About the Institute

The beginnings of the Institute go back to 2001, when the Knowledge Institute was founded at the Warsaw School of Economics. It was co-funded and headed by Krzysztof Piech. It organised a few international conferences and seminaries, published a few books (in Polish and English).

The Institute's activities were financially supported by:
  • Polish Agency for Enterprise Development,
  • National Bank of Poland,
  • International Visegrad Fund,
  • Office of the Committee of European Integration.

Moreover, the Institute cooperated with Polish Economic Society, Business Centre Club, numerous Polish and international universities.

In 2006, it re-emerged as the Knowledge & Innovation Institute, governed by Krzysztof Piech (the President) and prof. Ewa Okoń-Horodyńska (Head of the Advisory Council), former vice-minister of science in Poland.

The office of the Institute is located in Uniten Nations' House in Warsaw 00-608, Al. Niepodległości 186. This building hosts also TechnoPort - Warsaw Technological Park.
