The aim of this conference was to present the role that knowledge and innovations play in the modern economy. It is essential to know how to identify the growth engines and benefit from them. Additionally, it cannot be forget about the barriers the economy has to face. To be aware of them and have idea how to omit this threat are the crucial factors for growth and development.

• Presentation of Polish economy development studies
• Major obstacles for Polish economy and possible solutions
• Inaccuracy of Polish scientific knowledge and its use
